Yes — but the technology needs to match the environment. Evaporative vests work best in dry conditions with airflow (common in many parts of Australia). PCM phase change vests work in any humidity and are particularly effective in high-humidity conditions like Western Australia, Northern Australia & Queensland summers or factory environments. Choosing the right technology is the key.
Evaporative vests use water evaporation to cool — they need airflow and work best in dry conditions. PCM (Phase Change Material) vests use bio-based material that absorbs heat as it melts — they work in any humidity, including under PPE, and provide controlled cooling at a set temperature. See our Help Me Choose guide for a full comparison.
It depends on the technology and conditions. INUTEQ-PVA evaporative vests last up to 4 hours, INUTEQ-H2O evaporative vests last 2–8 hours per activation. INUTEQ-DRY vests last up to 3 days from 500ml of water. INUTEQ-PAC phase change vests last 1–4.5 hours depending on the temperature setting and environment. All are fully reusable.
Yes. INUTEQ products use bio-based, non-toxic materials. The PAC phase change material is USDA bio-based certified and REACH compliant — non-hazardous and safe for food manufacturing, healthcare and industrial environments. Full MSDS documentation is available on request.
PCM phase change vests can — they are specifically designed for use under protective clothing, hazmat suits and heavy PPE. Evaporative vests require airflow and are not effective under sealed protective gear. For factory, emergency service or hazmat use, PCM is the recommended technology.
Yes. Cooling vests are a recognised NDIS Assistive Technology support item (Support Item Ref: 05_043006111_0103_1_2) for people with thermoregulatory conditions. We invoice directly to NDIS plans as required. Contact us with your NDIS number, plan name and product details — we'll take care of the rest. See our Medical & NDIS page for details.
For outdoor work in dry conditions, the INUTEQ-H2O or INUTEQ-DRY evaporative vests are excellent choices — lightweight, easy to activate and effective for long shifts. For humid environments or PPE use, the INUTEQ-PAC Bodycool Pro with 21°C CoolPacs is the most popular choice. Use our Help Me Choose guide for a personalised recommendation.
